The business gurus will tell you: if you start with what you know your chances of success will be much greater. Okay, but suppose you want to try something new, something drastically different from your present career or a business that is way outside the your realm of experience? Should having no knowledge of that business stop you from pursuing it?
My answer is a resounding ‘No!’ You can start cold turkey and still be wildly successful.
When trying to make a decision about starting your own business, you will find yourself asking one of these questions:
* “How much experience do I need to start a home business?”
* “Do I have enough experience to start a home business?”
Schoolbook don’t answer these questions. You can either go ahead hoping for the best, or you can go slowly analyzing every little step.
It is possible to go from being a bricklayer to a successful Internet Guru. There are true stories of partially educated teenagers who stumble on to a bright idea and become wildly successful.
A developing number of stay-at-home moms travel way out of their comfort zones into the untried world of business. Yet without prior preparation or knowledge of the world they were entering, met with stunning success. It is just a matter of how willing you are to take risks and educate yourself.
One of the critical personal traits of an entrepreneur is the willingness to explore new horizons, take risks and accept responsibility for the risks taken. An entrepreneur needs to be good at self-motivation, or have the characteristic that gets and keeps a person moving even when things seem dismal. It is this trait that will enable you to continue despite drawbacks, like very little capital, lack of education or limited experience.
Don’t get me wrong; knowledge and expertise are important. Studies have shown that lack of business experience is one of the major reasons for the failure of any business. So, if you are the kind of person who likes to analyze your options then take time to evaluate all the factors, then stick with your preferences.
If you think that you need more business experience, there are a number ways to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for your venture. You can scour the Internet for education packages, or you could choose to get on-the-job training to give you some hands-on experience in your field of interest by teaming up with someone who already has an online business. There are definite advantages to working with someone else in your industry of choice. You “earn as you learn,” while you increase your chances of becoming known online, which makes it much easier when you decide to go it alone.
Approach obstacles like learning how to run a home business or a new aspect of home business management, as an exciting challenge and meet the challenge head-on. Many of the successful entrepreneurs who started their ventures, did so without fully understanding the mechanics involved, like them you must motivate yourself to learn whatever is necessary to accomplish your goals.
Take the initiative! Learn everything you can about your prospective business – the product or service that you plan to sell, the niche you are thinking of entering, your competition and your prospective market. Be sure to do your homework.
If you possess common sense, the ability to learn new skills, are enthusiastic about taking risks, or have the courage to venture into the unknown, and the persistence to continue – you should be able to overcome the initial lack of expertise and be wildly successful. Have faith in yourself and determine come what may, you will have your own home business.
Resolve within yourself to meet the daily challenges with courage, giving the best you have to give. Running a successful home business is not magic, it is about finding the information you need, then putting it into practice, one step at a time.

Studies have shown that successful entrepreneurs possess these characteristics:
1. Self-confidence
This is that magical power of having confidence in oneself and in one’s powers and abilities.
2. Achievement Oriented
Results are gained by focused and sustained effort. They concentrate on achieving a specific goal, not just accomplishing a string of unrelated tasks.
3. Risk Taker
They realize that there is a chance of loss inherent in achieving their goals, yet they have the confidence necessary to take calculated risks to achieve their goals.
Entrepreneurs are people who will make decisions, take action, and think that they can control their own destinies. They are often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work, not luck.
So which of these three main characteristics is the most important? Believe it or not, it has to be self-confidence. Without self-confidence, nothing else is possible. If you don’t believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises may knock you off the path to achieving your goals. Here are a few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of self-confidence.
Positive Thinking
Well, it all starts with a positive attitude, doesn’t it? Believing that something good will happen is the first step. Negative thinking simply is not allowed. You must truly believe that there are no circumstances strong enough to deter you from reaching your goals. Remember too, that positive thinking can be contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to new ideas, customers, friends, etc.
Persistent Action
Now all of the positive thinking and believing in the world is useless if it is not applied towards a goal. You have to take action, no excuses are allowed. This action must also be persistent. Trying once and then giving up is not going to be enough. Keep at it one step at a time. If you can’t get by a certain step, then find a creative way to try again or just go around it.
At the beginning of this article we identified a few traits that are common among successful entrepreneurs. You should be able to look ahead and see yourself where you want to be. Now just maintain a strong belief in yourself and your skills, stick with it, and don’t give up. If you can do that, you’re already half way there!

Article distribution is one of the most powerful ways of promoting your site. You can either write or have written articles about your products. There are a variety of different types of articles you can use, but one of the most popular is informative articles. Another popular article type is a product review.
Distribution: You can do this manually and find all the article directories and libraries etc online, and then manually submit your article. This is free but very time consuming. You can use software, which is a little limited or you can use a good service that will cover a wide variety of lists and directories.
Before you submit your articles, be very sure that you have a good bio box that will allow your readers to click through to your website.
Article submission will help your business in several ways. Here are a few of them:
• Establish you as an expert in your field: This will gain you more trust and credibility, and will encourage more clicks through and sales.
• Create back links: These links will increase your Page Rank with Google and allow you to get a better position in their search engine.
• It will also bring more people to your website through the links.
You can either write your own articles or have someone write them for you. Another way is to take advantage of free content from HighProfits. You can join this site for free and they will send you fresh articles every week.
Modifying the articles for your use: Of course your content will need to be original, so you would need to rewrite the articles for your own use. You can also just use the ideas and write a brand new article. These articles will be very useful for you, as it will save you hours of research and writing. They will also keep you up to date with various new trends in your industry.
